The NREGA is the first step towards realising the right to work, which is included in the Constitution as one of the Directive Principles of State Policy. It says, "The State shall in particular direct its policy towards securing ... that the citizens, men and women equally have the right to an adequate means of livelihood." Sacred Grove Campaign launched in Orissa

In order to create awareness among the people especially the Adivasis on the importance of sacred grove in protecting the bio-diversity and to facilitate for documentation of prevailing local practices of protecting the sacred groves a campaign cum exhibition on Sacred Grove was launched jointly by Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrhalaya, Bhopal (IGRMS) and Orissa Development Action Forum (ODAF) with its inauguration at ACM campus in Rangamatia, Mayurbhanj.......

Tribal Healers’ Camp

In view of growing demand and importance of Adivasi medicines and developing a space for recognizing the services of tribal healers attempts are being made to organize tribal healer’s festival in different states by IGRMS, Bhopal. Stalk Talking Exercise on NREGA
The Central Government enacted the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) on August 25, 2005. The NREGA provides a legal guarantee for one hundred days of employment in every financial year to adult members of any rural household willing to do unskilled manual work at the statutory minimum wage.
