Work shop on Recon of ADivasis and Forest Dwellers Rights on Forest Land
Greetings from Orissa Development Action Forum!
You will be aware that since 2002 there was lot of debate and protest in the country over the decision of the Govt to evict the forest dwellers. In the mean time the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, has approved to introduce the Scheduled Tribes and Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest rights) Bill in the forthcoming Budget session of the Parliament. Before the aforesaid bill is finalised and introduced in the Parliament, the Civil Society groups must address this issue by preparing key issues that are affecting the forest dwellers and their rights and provide solutions, so that the same may find a place in the aforesaid bill.
In this backdrop, ODAF is planning to organise a two-day State Level Workshop on “Recognition of Adivasis and Forest Dwellers Rights on Forest Land” on 11th - 12th of March 2005 at Red Cross Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. The two-day workshop will involve interactions with academicians; social activists and NGOs representatives, Adivasi representatives and we hope that your kind presence will enrich the workshop. May I request you to be part of this two-day deliberation. The details of the programme schedule will be sent to you soon.
shall appreciate if you could kindly confirm your participation to email@example.com.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
